Pacific City Pathways

This 1.2-mile trail winds through a peaceful shore pine forest, offering a shaded walk for you and your dog. You can access the trail from the east side of Hart’s Camp.

Bob Straub State Park

A favorite for energetic dogs, with miles of shoreline to sniff and explore. Walk along the Nestucca River, wander the beach and enjoy plenty of space to stretch your legs together.
Access by car or walk a mile down the beach.

Sitka Sedge State Natural Area

A quieter option for dogs who love to explore new scents. Leashed pets can accompany you along trails that wind through wetlands, meadows and shore pine forest rich with birds and native plants. Located four miles north of camp.

Easy Clean Up After the Fun

After a day on the sand, use our warm outdoor showers to rinse off sandy paws, muddy boots and salty gear before settling in for the evening.

Yes. Hart’s Camp welcomes dogs across all accommodation types — RV, van, and tent sites plus designated pet-friendly Airstreams, cabins, and cottages — at our 14-acre camp directly across from Pacific City Beach on Oregon’s North Coast.

Dogs stay free at RV, van, and tent sites. In lodging (Airstreams, cabins, and cottages), the fee is $25 per dog, per night.

Up to 3 dogs per pet-friendly lodging unit. RV and tent campers should leash and supervise all dogs on site. Dogs in lodging must be registered at the time of booking.

No. Hart’s Camp has no breed, size, or weight restrictions — every good dog is welcome.

No. Dogs cannot be left unattended in lodging or at RV/tent sites. If you’re heading somewhere dogs can’t go, please take them with you or arrange care.

Dogs must be leashed at all times throughout the property, and owners are asked to pick up after them. Pet waste stations are located throughout camp.

Yes. We have outdoor warm-water rinse stations to wash sandy paws and muddy gear, pet waste stations throughout camp, and a communal Pavilion fire pit where your dog can lounge by the fire with you.

Yes. Pacific City’s wide sandy beach sits directly across the street — ideal for leashed runs, fetch, and sunset walks beneath Cape Kiwanda Dune.

Three favorites, all leash-friendly: Pacific City Pathways (a 1.2-mile forest trail off camp’s east side), Bob Straub State Park (miles of beach and river access, about a mile away), and Sitka Sedge State Natural Area (4 miles north).

Plenty of patios welcome dogs, including Pelican Brewing Company (outdoor seating with ocean views), Stimulus Coffee + Bakery, Doryland Pizza, and Ben & Jeff’s Burgers and Tacos.
